Our Mission
The Broad River Legal Defense Fund (BRLDF) exists to protect the Broad River through legal action, public education, and environmental advocacy. We diligently work to ensure transparent decision-making, safeguard clean water, and support the rights of local communities to have a voice in development that affects their health, land & property values, and futures.
What we do
LEGAL ADVOCACY
We engage in legal action to protect natural resources, particularly the Broad River and its surrounding communities. This includes challenging activities that may harm the river or the people who live near it.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION
We work with local communities along the Broad River to raise awareness about environmental issues concerning the river, provide education on conservation practices, and promote sustainable use of natural resources.
POLICY ADVOCACY
We advocate for environmental policies and legislation at local and state levels to ensure long-term protection of natural habitats and resources. This may involve collaborating with policymakers, participating in public hearings, or contributing to the development of environmental regulations.
